7 Days Desert Tour From Marrakech To Erg Chigaga

Day 1: Marrakech → Demnate → Imi n’Ifri → Magdaz → Skoura

Depart from Marrakech and head toward Demnate, known for its natural beauty. Visit the Imi n’Ifri natural bridge, a dramatic limestone arch. Continue through the High Atlas mountains to reach the remote and picturesque Berber village of Magdaz, famous for its stone architecture. End the day in the palm groves of Skoura, known for its beautiful kasbahs.

Day 2: Skoura → Agdz → Draa Valley → Zagora

Visit Kasbah Amridil, then drive through the Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest river oasis lined with palm trees and kasbahs. Stop in Agdz before arriving in Zagora, the gateway to the desert.

Day 3: Zagora → Tamegroute → M’Hamid → Erg Chigaga Desert

Explore the ancient Koranic library and green pottery in Tamegroute, then continue to M’Hamid, the last village before the Sahara. Ride a 4×4 across off-road desert terrain to reach the remote Erg Chigaga dunes. Enjoy a camel ride and watch the sunset over the golden sands.

Day 4: Erg Chigaga → Iriki Lake → Foum Zguid → Taznakht → Ouarzazate

Leave the dunes behind via the dry Iriki Lake and desert landscapes toward Foum Zguid. Continue through Taznakht, famous for Berber carpets, before arriving in Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa.”

Day 5: Ouarzazate → Aït Ben Haddou → Telouet → High Atlas → Marrakech

Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Aït Ben Haddou, a stunning ksar used in many films. Continue to the hidden Kasbah of Telouet, once home of the Glaoui family. Cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass through the High Atlas Mountains and return to Marrakech.

Day 6: Full Day in Marrakech

Discover the magic of Marrakech: visit the Majorelle Gardens, Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, and the lively Jemaa el-Fna square. Explore the colorful souks and medina with a local guide.
