Day Trip
Day 1 : Marrakech – Tizi N Tichka – Ouarzazate – Agdez.
First of all, we pick you up from your Riad or Hotel in Marrakech. Hence, we start this 3 days Erg Chegaga desert tour heading to Ouarzazate via Tizi n Tichka pass. Therefore, it is one of the most scenic drives in Morocco. Next, we continue to Ouarzazate passing by Ait ben Haddou Kasbah. Besides, it is listed under UNESCO World Heritage site. As well as, it is also classified in the Inventory of Earthen architecture (UNESCO, 2012).
In other words, a group of earthen buildings surrounded by high walls, is a traditional pre-Saharan habitat. The houses crowd together within the defensive walls. On the way, we continue our Morocco gate tours by the Anti Atlas Mountains and the Berber villages of Agdz via amazing Draa Valley.
Day 2: Agdez – Trekking – Draa Valley – Zagora.
After breakfast, we will hike draa valley and drive to Zagora or Mhamid village through Tamagroute and visit one of the oldest Quranic libraries. As a result, it is known by pottery factory. Consequently, we continue to M’hamid El Ghizlane, the last village before the vast expanses of the Sahara, is a rural municipality of the Zagora province.
So, this place used to be an oasis where were built the old kasbah. In other words, The kasbah of the Moroccan south, residences built from adobe, a mixture of clayey earth and straw, their architecture of striking.
Day 3: Zagora – Mhamid – Foum Laalaq – Erg Chigaga.
Today, we will drive from Zagora to Erg Chigaga passing by the famous sigh 52 Days (Zagora to Timbuktu). So, this road was very important by Caravan traders between Morocco and sub Saharian countries. Therefore, the journey is considerably quicker today, but if you go by camel, it probably still takes 52 days. Moreover, we will continue to Erg Chigaga where campsite is located. We will enjoy a real with sunset time. You will have time to climb on dunes and do a camel ride.
Day 4: Erg Chigaga – Iriqui – Foum Zguid – Ouarzazate.
Today, we will wake up to enjoy the sunrise and will continue the trip crossing desert via the old Paris Dakar route and the dry Lake Iriqi. In conclusion, we drive through Tazenakht. It is a place famous by its carpets and rugs. Late evening, at Ouarzazate to visit taourirt Kasbah and studio of Cinema. Ouarzazate is a Moroccan Hollywood. Many movies were filmed such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiators and Prince of Persia.
Day 5: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech.
We cross the magnificent Atlas Mountains to discover Telouet, Ait Benhaddou and Ouarzazate. Ouarzazate the first port of call is Telouet. It is a village on the Route of the Caravans from the Sahara. Enjoy a journey from Ouarzazate to Marrakech for views of valleys and desert. Late evening, we drive back to Marrakech.
