Embark 2-Day Desert Tour from Fes to Marrakech 2-day journey from Fes to Marrakech. Travel through breathtaking landscapes, including the golden dunes of Merzouga, the fossil town of Erfoud, and the dramatic cliffs of Todra Gorge. This express desert experience is perfect for travelers short on time but eager to explore Morocco’s natural beauty and Berber culture.
After breakfast, you will begin your 2-day excursion from Fes to Marrakech. You will depart for the Sahara Desert, with a stop in Azrou. You will detour to the cedar forests to visit the local Barbary apes. We will arrive in Midelt around noon, an ideal time and place for lunch. It is known for its apple production. We will then travel to Errachidia and the Ziz Valley via the Tizi n’ Talghomt Pass. We will make good progress towards Erfoud. After a short drive, we will arrive in Merzouga, the starting point for our camel ride that will take us to the desert camp where we will spend the night. After dinner, you will enjoy Berber music playing traditional drums around the campfire after your meal is served.
get up early to enjoy the spectacular sunrise over the dunes of Merzouga. After this natural spectacle, you will be transported by camel or 4×4 to a rural lodge to continue your journey.
Returning to the route, you will pass through the Tafilalet Palm Grove and Rissani (hometown of the Moroccan royal family) until you reach Alnif. You will then cross the impressive Anti-Atlas Mountains to explore the Berber communities of Tazarine and N’kob, as well as the Draa Valley and its vast expanse of date palms.
After passing through Tizi N’Tnifift, you will arrive in the new town of Ouarzazate, where you will have lunch. You’ll then make a stop at the famous Ait Ben Haddou kasbah, or a quick visit depending on the season, before continuing to Marrakech and being dropped off at your accommodation, where our 2-day tour from Fes to Marrakech via the Sahara Desert comes to an end.
